Tension building for race one: Camier fastest
Leon Camier throws down the gauntlet to his rivals in the warm up this morning at Cadwell Park

Leon Camier threw down the gauntlet to his rivals in the warm up session this morning at Cadwell Park as the build up continues to the opening race of the day for the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship in association with Pirelli.

The Airwaves Yamaha rider was not the only rider to top the times in the frantic 15 minute session, with his team-mate James Ellison also setting the benchmark with ten minutes remaining before he was displaced by the championship leader.

Worx Crescent Suzuki's Sylvain Guintoli was definitely in a threatening position this morning; he set the fourth fastest time as he continued to perfect his set up ahead of his race comeback this afternoon. He was running as high as third and is eager to make a good start in the races later today.

Hydrex Honda were also running at the sharp end with Stuart Easton the faster of the two in third, with team-mate Karl Harris creeping inside the top ten in the final minutes of the session.

Julien Da Costa set his fastest lap of the session with three minutes remaining to move up to fifth, with Mirror.co.uk Cup leader Gary Mason in sixth ahead of the Relentless Suzuki by TAS of Ian Lowry.

HM Plant Honda's Karl Muggeridge was just outside the top ten, with team-mate John McGuinness in 14th.
